Co.As.It. Italian Family History Group
1st Quarter 2015
The Co.As.It. Italian Family History Group (IFHG) kicked off the year with our featured guest speaker John Barnes, President of New Italy, at our 25 February event at Palace Cinemas, Norton Street, Leichhardt, NSW. John presented an engaging historical account of the 1881 migration of Italians to this northern NSW community. The event was well received with an audience base of over 90 attendees.
Our second event of the quarter featured; Max Bosotti on 25 March, CEO of The Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of NSW, born in Torino and migrated to Australia in 1950 as a “displaced person” following the partition of the Isterian part of Italy after WW2 to Yugoslavia (now Croatia) – an engaging story of family struggle and his successful career in Australia.
Our event series for 2015 includes:
